Chapter Events




Chapter members enjoyed gathering early in December for fellowship and a Christmas celebration. For the past several years we have enjoyed sharing heritage items and the stories behind them Pictured is member Joan Alliston with her family treasure.




For our November chapter meeting, members gathered in the home of member Nancy Mayfield. With the approaching 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, it was appropriate to commemorate the event. We were honored to have World War II veteran Jim Blount speak about his career and the attack, which led the United States into World War II. Chief Red Jacket chapter was well represented at the October "Rosalie Day" meeting and luncheon held on the grounds of Rosalie Mansion in Natchez, MS. During the event, our guest Carlo Martella donated an antebellum-style costume worn by his wife Cathy Martella. Mrs. Martella was a former Chief Red Jacket Chapter regent and MSSDAR state treasurer at the time of her death. For the October chapter meeting, Vice Regent Susan Newton presented a program on the United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO). Pictured (l to r): Susan Newton, Chapter Vice Regent, and Cindy Mangum, Chapter Regent.



Chief Red Jacket Chapter was well represented at the recent MSSDR Heartland District meeting. Those in attendance learned about the new projects and programs for the new DAR year.



Chief Red Jacket Chapter members enjoyed the annual MSSDAR Cameo Society Luncheon held at the Fairview Inn in Jackson.
